Call for Proposal

 

The Pittsburgh Blackboard Users Group (Pgh-BUG), a western Pennsylvania Users Group, invites you to submit a proposal for a presentation or panel discussion for their 3rd Annual Pittsburgh Blackboard Users Group Conference, hosted by Duquesne University on Monday and Tuesday, November 21 and 22, 2005, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The deadline for submission is September 30th, 2005. Early submission is recommended. Submission of a proposal does not guarantee acceptance for a presentation.

This year’s conference theme is “Blackboard and E-Learning:  Moving Forward.”  Faculty, instructional support staff, librarians, campus staff, and Blackboard systems administrators are encouraged to participate in this event and share their ideas on any of the following topics:

  • Pedagogy of E-Learning for distance courses and/or for enhancing classroom courses
  • Engaging Students in Learning—Strategies and Best Practices
  • Effective Assessment Strategies and Outcomes Based Learning
  • Blackboard’s E-Portfolio—From Course to the Program Level Use
  • Extending Blackboard Beyond the Classroom—Community Sites for Students, Campus Units, and Others
  • Faculty Support Strategies:  Making Campus Support Work Effectively
  • Administrating the Blackboard Learning System (Basic or Enterprise), Communities, and/or Content Management/E-portfolio System
  • Effective Policies, Procedures, Security, and System Considerations

This 2-day conference will consist of 4 concurrent tracks:

Track 1: Teaching & Learning with Blackboard
Track 2:  Supporting Blackboard (Instructional Support Staff, Librarians, Academic Center Support Staff)
Track 3: Administrating Blackboard (Systems Administrators, Technical Support Staff, Transaction System)
Track 4:  Implementing and Extending Blackboard (Blackboard and Vendor Sponsors)
